Account data
Firebase Authentication processes the UID, name, email address, and photo supplied by Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple. Apple may provide a Private Relay address.
Cards and files
Firestore stores cards, contacts, search-feed visibility, tabs, favorites, and processing states. Firebase Storage stores covers, PDFs, page images, share posters, and scanner material.
PDF scanner
Selected images are sent to a protected server queue only for PDF creation and the automated processing required by the scanner. Processing is limited to the requested operation.
Region and map point
You can manually select a country and city for the search feed and optionally set a map point for your card. MangaDeck does not automatically determine the device location. The saved region and coordinates are used only for the features you select and may be shown to card recipients.
Notifications
Push notifications remain off until you consent. Once enabled, the app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging and, on iOS, Apple Push Notification service. You can revoke permission in MangaDeck and in system settings.
Purchases
The app store processes payment details. MangaDeck receives only the one-time purchase result and product identifier needed to grant the purchased feature.
Support reports
A problem report is sent only when you choose to submit it. Along with your description, MangaDeck sends the app version, device model, operating-system version, language, time zone, and last-scan context; a screenshot is attached only if you select one. This data is used to handle the report, not for advertising or tracking.
Search and direct links
The “Show in search” setting affects discovery in the feed only. Direct links and QR codes continue to work regardless of this setting unless the card is deleted or blocked by moderation.
Protection and retention
MangaDeck uses Firebase Security Rules, App Check, and server-side authorization checks. Data is kept while it is needed for the account or a feature, and is removed after account deletion according to the service procedure and applicable requirements.
Your choices
You can edit your profile and cards, delete individual cards and related files, disable notifications, remove a card from the search feed, or delete your account. Instructions are available on the account deletion page.
